Psalms 34:18 says that a pleasing sacrifice is a broken heart and a contrite spirit...I think the 'trick' - if there is a 'trick' - is to be willing to be broken quickly. Then moving in and out of that process becomes more natural. It makes it easier to not equate 'brokenness' with being "busted /shattered / devastated" as a person (as in I stink, I am bad, I cannot recover)... If I had any REAL idea of the sin in my life (Sin is "harmartia", missing the mark, like an archer or marksman) then I would never leave the ground. I would have to be on my face every moment. So I just keep knowing Grace, staying close to brokenness and being joyfull that I am a child and I am loved....and that THAT KIND OF LOVE covers a multitude of sin . (Satan hates that.)
